Garforth Town in his prime 10 odd years ago he made a few guest appearances
for the local village team i was playing for at the time - Mods player -
second team keeper last year was quality - can't remember his name = Tom Barnfield ?
8. Best Player you have played against - Too many to
mention in a career of approx 25 years - these days its any tricky winger
who looks younger than my 17 year old lad and sets about giving me the
runaround for 90 mins.
9. Football Idol Gordon Strachan (when at Leeds obviously) its a Ginger
thing ?.
10. Favourite supporting football memory - A season of memories - I had a
ticket for every home game when Leeds won the League 1 title the year prior
to formation of Premier League courtesy of my brother who signed Schoolboy
Forms with Leeds that year - he subsequently discovered Birds and Alcohol
and never played again beyond the age of 20.
11. Worst supporting football Memory - Seeing Leeds United decline in the
last few years.
12. Greatest playing memory/achievment -
Helping 3rds reach Hodgson final in 2005 -
13. Worst Mods or previous club memory - Missing the Hodgson Cup final in
2005 i think it was - having been away in the States due to work
commitments - played in every round prior to final which was against Mods
4ths (full of legends - Appleby - Mullins etc) on Mods Club pitch - 3rds
triumphed and good mate Tim Lupton notched a Hat Trick - got the text while
in LA - worst and best all in one.
14. Mods Hero - Back in the early days of my Mods career it had to be Dave
Hemmingway - top player and used to get us all tickets for his Beautiful
South gigs up and down the land - had some top nights in Manchester and
Newcastle as a result - pity he's Man U fan.
15. Best ground you've played at - Yorkshire Bank back in the days - what a
waste of facilities - still don't think its been developed after they moved
off / sold it a few years back.
16. Favourite Band/Artist and Track - at the moment Favourite band - Kings of
Leon
17. Pre-match preperation routine - Up anytime from 0600 with the new 6 week
old Mod to be Samuel - Porridge every morning with Honey made the proper
way half and half - bookies to pick up coupon and drop back in on way to
Match - Banana prior to kick off - as little stretching and warm up the old
body can take.
18. What do you do on a Saturday when not playing football - In the summer
try and get some decent cycling in -
19. Best Friend/s at the club - Played with some top blokes over the years
and nice to see Mr Hick doing so well - George Bacon - John Ainley.
20. If you could change 1 thing about the club what would it be -
Echo what everyone has said about the new structure and how its helping on the
pitch etc - one other simple thing then from me - stick those plastic tent
pegs that are about as much use as a Johnsons earbud for pegging out a net
up your proverbial arse and get some decent metal pegs - for those 3rd
teamers who sit around pretending to lose a stud in the changing room - a
tent peg is what some of us use to put those stringy net type things around
the two vertical while poley things that hold up the other horizontal bar -
rant over off on e.bay to find some net pegs ?
