2. AKA - Mullini, Tosser

3. Age -
 47

3.1. Place of Birth - Knutsford, Cheshire

4. Position -
 (Reckless) attacking defender

5. Boots -
 can’t see for the dirt

6. Playing History -
St Nicholas Former pupils, Winnington Park, Northwich Vics (reserves, unfortunately), Poynton, Linotype (all in Mid Cheshire League), Esh Winning (County Durham not very good league), Bowling Green, FC Coachman, Owley Wood, Cuddington, Newton Hall (Sunday teams) Manchester University, fourths, thirds, seconds and firsts

7. Best players to have played alongside -
John Stringer (went on to play for Telford), Mark Dunne (went on to play for Northwich Vics) Mick Birch (went on to be fat and bald)

8. Best players to have played against -
2 left backs, one was a chubby cockney who played for Liverpool University, and the other was tall and fast, and who played for Yorkshire Bank in Senior A a few years ago-never have I been so far behind anybody when (supposedly) chasing them.

9. Football Idol -
 Robbie Fowler

10. Best Supporting Memory -
bursting (illegally) through the gates at Anfeld in 1977, having been locked out, European Quarter final, St Etienne, 1-1 (1-2 on aggregate) with 25 minutes to go, need 2 goals, Ray Kennedy scores, 15 minutes to go, super sub Fairclough comes on, scores with 7 minutes to go, cue the loudest rendition of “We shall not be moved” ever heard. Went on to win European cup in Rome.

11. Worst Supporting Memory -
Man Utd, out played, out though, out fought, somehow coming back to beat Bayern Munich in 1999 European Cup Final. Still sends a shudder down the spine.

12. Greatest Playing Moment -
Overall, winning (and getting man of the match-every dog/reckless defender has his day) Durham County Cup, with a team that wasn’t even in the top league-unprecedented. For Mods, getting to semi-finals of all 3 cups, and winning two of them, in 2001 (?) despite only scoring one goal!

13. Worst Playing Moment -
Non-Mods; Turning out against a previous club (who I’d left to go onto ‘bigger things’) at their ground, in a cup final, and only being a sub-unjust, and highly embarrassing. Mods-not winning Senior A, 1998-2000 (?) despite having the best team, by a country mile, in both seasons

14. Mods Hero -
Without a doubt, the spirit. I have never known, in my many, many years of playing football, so much goodwill held by ex-players (Andy Hoole excepted) towards a club. A spirit which is slowly, surely and very intelligently being (re) harnessed and will be the key contributor to what I am convinced will be a very successful next few years.

15. Best Ground Played At -
  Bedquilts

16. Favourite Artist -
mmm-tough, favourite band of all time; The Undertones, favourite track of all time, Ever Fallen in Love (with someone you shouldn’t have) the Buzzcocks, favourite band of (relatively) recent times, Pulp, favourite single of recent times, Mr Brightside (the Killers), favourite current band, Long Blondes, favourite current chart track, Rabbit heart, Florence and the Machine

17. Pre Match Preperation -
arrive late, rush onto pitch 5 minutes after game has started, pull muscle, have 3 week on sidelines injured.

18. What do you do on a Saturday when not playing football -
trips out with the kids, weekends away, a bit of cycling.

19. Best friend at the Club -
  Anthony Hey

20. 1 Thing you would Change about the Club -
A mentality which seems to accept failure, or mediocrity, with an all too easy equanimity.
