The club are delighted that Stuart Flint has been appointed assistant manager for the 1st team squad.

Flint, who joined the club in the middle of last season, has played a key role in the positive pre-season as a fitness coach working with all four squads. This new role will see him working closely with 1st Team manager Nick Powell to drive improvements in player and team development and having an input in tactical decisions.

Explaining the move, Powell said "In my first few weeks at the club I found Stuart to be an approachable and knowledgeable member of the group. His understanding of the levels of fitness I wanted the group to get to and his no fuss, organised way of getting them there was impressive. I spoke to him at length about individuals and the group and it quickly became clear that we work well together and share an aligned footballing philosophy. His input will prove invaluable, so I am delighted that he has joined me and captain Danny Claxton on the management team for the 1st team group."

The clubs is also recruiting additional coaches to assist with training, which this week broke a record with 67 players in attendance at the impressive Yarnbury 3G facility in Horsforth.
