Match Report - 25 Oct 2008, Leeds Modernians Football Club 2nds lost to Ealandians Reserves
Twelve goals conceded in 2 games, and none of them the goalkeepers fault, discuss. A combination of poor defending and some great finishes ensured that 4 goals scored was not sufficient for the reserves to record their first point of the season, although the referee tried his best to rectify that by insisting the score was 5 all. Another strong first half performance was undermined and rendered futile as once again the team ran out of steam in the last quarter of a game against opposition who appeared fitter and stronger, although technically inferior. The plus points included 2 fine goals from William Brown, entirely in keeping with an exceptional performance from the Mods right winger, another flawless performance from Barney in goals and an incisive and skilful contribution from Stevo McStevenson in his comeback game for the club.
